About these terms
These terms apply to every shipment you send with us, together with any service-specific terms, quotations or account agreements we provide. If there is a conflict, a signed account agreement takes priority, then the service-specific terms, then these terms.
International carriage may also be subject to international conventions (for example, those governing carriage by air or road), which can limit liability and override these terms where they apply.
Bookings and acceptance
A contract is formed when we accept your shipment, either by collecting it or receiving it at a branch, and recording an acceptance scan. We may decline any booking. Services, coverage and transit options vary by branch and destination.
Your responsibilities
When you send a shipment you confirm that:
- the contents are accurately described and declared, and are not prohibited (see our restricted and prohibited items list);
- the shipment is packed and labelled in line with our shipping guidelines;
- sender and recipient details are complete and correct;
- you have provided all documents required for export, transit and import; and
- you have the right to send the goods and to share the personal data of the recipient with us for delivery.
Inspection and refusal
We, our carriers and government authorities may open and inspect shipments. We may hold, return or refuse any shipment that appears unsafe, unlawful, incorrectly declared or that may damage other shipments.
Delivery
We deliver to the recipient's address, or to another person or location where permitted. If delivery can't be completed, we may make another attempt, hold the shipment for collection, or return it to the sender. Each attempt and its reason are recorded on the tracking page. Shipments not collected within the holding period may be returned at the sender's cost.
Delivery estimates
Any delivery date we provide is an estimate, not a guarantee, unless a guaranteed service is expressly agreed in writing. We only show an estimate once our operations team has set one. Transit times can be affected by customs, weather, carrier capacity and other events outside our control.
Customs, duties and taxes
Unless agreed otherwise, duties, taxes and related fees are payable by the recipient. If the recipient refuses to pay, the sender is responsible for those charges and any return costs. See our customs guide.
Charges and payment
Charges are based on the service, route, and the greater of actual and volumetric weight. If the weight, dimensions or contents differ from those declared, we may adjust the charges. Account customers pay according to their account agreement.
Liability
Our liability for loss of, or damage to, a shipment is limited to the amount set out in your service terms or account agreement, or the limit under any applicable international convention, unless greater cover has been agreed in writing. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as loss of profit or business, or for delays, except where the law does not allow us to exclude such liability.
We are not responsible for failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, including natural events, government action, customs holds, strikes or carrier disruption.
Claims
Report loss or damage as soon as possible through our contact form, with your tracking number, photos of the packaging and contents, and proof of value. Keep the packaging until the claim is resolved. Time limits for claims apply and will be confirmed in your service terms.
Consumer rights
If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded, including the Australian Consumer Law, the consumer laws of US states, UK consumer law and the consumer laws of EU member states.
Governing law
The law and courts that apply to a contract depend on the Transvera entity and branch you contract with and on mandatory local laws. Details will be confirmed in your booking confirmation or account agreement.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force when we accept your shipment applies to that shipment.
